I am a trainee psychotherapist, working with patients in Norwich and London, and online. I can offer you a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space in which we can work together to explore your concerns and the forces that may cause you suffering. My approach draws on the psychoanalytic/psychodynamic tradition in giving space to the effects on emotional and psychological life of those aspects of one’s experience which are unconscious or poorly understood .
I can work either on a time limited or on a long-term basis. I meet with patients in person at The Practice Rooms, 9-11 Lower Goat Lane, Norwich, and in Angel/Exmouth Market, EC1V.
My fee is £55 but I do sometimes have a low fee spaces available.
I have many years’ experience working with people in need of help and support, previously as a solicitor representing victims of trafficking, abuse and labour exploitation and with asylum seekers. As such I have particular experience of working with victims of trauma and abuse and those struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. My work as a lawyer involved supporting victims to piece together the story of their lives so that it could be understood as part of their legal case by the authorities or by the courts, enabling them to obtain the compensation or sanctuary so desperately needed to move forward in their lives. In my work as a psychotherapist I build on the skills I developed as a lawyer to help patients to make sense of their lives so that they feel relieved of suffering and able to move forward in a positive way.
